Using a Ferguson TED and making TVO fuel

Further to all previous emails regarding this subject, when you make TVO yourself it should be made from Central Heating oil (28second) NOT paraffin. Paraffin is zero octane and central heating oil is not. The correct mixture is 4/5 central heating oil to 1/5 gasoline, if the engine "knocks" or "pinks" under load increase the amount of gasoline in the mixture and check the timing for your engine, if you need details for that let me know your engine number and I will tell you what it should be for your particular engine. We have become aware of a problem with using paraffin or diesel in the mixture through a letter from Shell oil giving us the facts. Both Paraffin and Diesel are zero octane fuels and should NOT be used. Please contact me direct or through JC if you have any questions about this......John
PS Just as a matter of interest there are 4 different versions of the TED engine, so it is always important to have the correct serial number of the engine
