Replacing mouldboards on BBAF28

Message par webmaster » 08 Mars 2005, 11:38

Hello John
A question from christophe

he has a BBAF28 for which mouldboards show a reference as you can see on the photo. On the basis of this reference , he wonders if it is genuine part or not ? As far as you know, is it possible today to find genuine mouldboards or if not what part could be equivalent

The answer is that it is a 12inch Semi-Digger Mouldboard and it looks to be a genuine Harry Ferguson part.
HF = Harry Ferguson,
12B is 12" and I think the B was Semi-Digger
AF = France (F) it would be E for England
Can't remember what 112 was at all, maybe it will come back to me.
To check the width of furrow, measure distance at the very top between the vertical plough beams that carry the plough bodies as it could be 12inches or maybe 14" they can do this by changing the plough shares as there are the two different types available i.e. 12inch and 14inch. There is a spacer fitted in the frame at the top where the plough beams bolt together on early ploughs if it has been converted to a 14inch model, later they had different beams for 14inch type. The mouldboard is the same for 12inch as for 14inch types. The only safe way to tell is measure between the beams at the top and then you can order the correct 12inch or 14inch share, these look the same except the "wing" (that cuts the furrow underneath) on a 14inch is longer that a 12inch. Hope you can understand all that as it is a bit complicated. As for plough parts, mouldboards etc. and shares, you can try the following:-

Roger Thulbourne Ferguson Plough Spares- parts for Ferguson and early Massey-Ferguson 793 plough's H and L Bases. Ransome Robin Parts Fergie Place, 6 Lynn Road, Southery, Nr Downham Market, Norfolk. PE38 OHU email at the FoFH Shop
Tel: 01366 377464

This came from the FoFH site:- http://www.fofh.co.uk/yellowpg.asp?c=2
and you can also try Paul at Southern Counties Tractor Spares (Carburettor kit for Christophe). If you don't have any luck with this then ask again...

- Roger Thulbourne Ferguson Plough Spares- parts for Ferguson and early Massey-Ferguson 793 plough's H and L Bases. Ransome Robin Parts Fergie Place, 6 Lynn Road, Southery, Nr Downham Market, Norfolk. PE38 OHU email at the FoFH Shop

Ces adresses proviennent su site Friends of Ferguson Heritage :
